Emotional moments of the Discerning Deacons International Convention in Mexico   

Last September we had the opportunity to organize a unique religious convention, a meeting of diaconal women from different parts of the world.

 

The group was made up mainly of women from the United States, Colombia, Brazil and Panama who gathered on an itinerary from August 31 to September 5 for the celebration of St. Phoebe.

 

Despite being planned during the pandemic, convention attendees had the opportunity to finally meet in person and connect after more than 2 years of living together and sharing the mission through digital media.

The excitement of seeing first time encounters, hugs, and even some tears left us with some very special moments to remember.

Their program included working sessions - breakfasts and dinners - held at the Hilton Reforma Hotel, during which they reflected and shared ideas about the importance of St. Phoebe and its mission.

 

On the other hand, they had the opportunity to visit the most emblematic places for any religious convention in Mexico City, such as: the Temple of Pocitos, the Parish of Santa Maria de Guadalupe Capuchinas, the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Parish of Santiago Apostle, the House of San Juan Diego in Cuautitlan and the Pyramids of Teotihuacan.

 

The atmosphere was one of brotherhood, love and fraternity at all times; without a doubt, having contributed and lived with them filled our hearts with satisfaction once again.
