Supporting the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC): DMS Mexico on the northern border

On September 24, 2023, DMS Mexico arrived at the border that separates the incredible Mexican and American lands; this in the city of Tijuana, known as the place where the homeland is born, which was designated as the venue for the following two days of a series of specialized training given by the United Nations team to various institutions.

During the course of the day, Arantza Falcon, the team's lead manager, was in charge of welcoming UNODC clients and directing them to the Gamma Fiesta Inn Tijuana, the hotel where the event would take place the following day. Upon arrival Judith Lopez, coordinator of the banquet area, warmly welcomed both the participants and the coordination, and later gave a brief but efficient tour to follow up on the new requirements requested by the team.

"During the course of the day, Arantza Falcon, the team's lead manager, was in charge of welcoming UNODC clients".

"At the coffee break table you could see the empty cups and glasses that were collected by the staff and restocked, in order to provide a pleasant stay and an impeccable image to the participants who visited them".

On September 25, almost from dawn, the banquet team began its work to prepare the Veranda room, located in the upper part of the restaurant; four coffee urns, a variety of drinks, a tray of sweet bread that was continuously being restructured and fruit cocktails with yogurt were offered to the attendees, who began to register at 8:00 hrs.

The event began at 9:00 a.m., and while the hours passed and the UNODC agenda was developed for the attendees, at the coffee break table you could see the empty cups and glasses that were collected by the staff and restocked, in order to provide a pleasant stay and an impeccable image to the participants who visited them.

As the hours passed and according to the UNODC itinerary, when the clock struck 14:00 hrs, hunger was present among the participants; to whom the catering service in coordination with DMS Mexico provided a delicious box lunch consisting of a portion of rice, 2 chicken tostadas and flavored gelatin, as well as a dispenser of horchata flavored water. In addition, the terrace area was open for attendees who wanted to take their food while enjoying the pleasant weather, because despite having an arid climate the city of Tijuana received us with a pleasant temperature.

For the closing day, the sessions would be shorter, however, the banquet team did not give in and redoubled their efforts to provide a pleasant farewell with their great service to the UNODC and DMS Mexico team on their last day at their facilities; the event closed at 14:30 hrs: 30 hrs, and after having lunch at a local restaurant and sharing a chat among them, the coordination of DMS Mexico led by Arantza transferred the UNODC team to the Tijuana airport, where they would take their flight back home satisfied with a great result and an excellent development of the agenda.
